As valve manufacturing specifications become more stringent, accurate and sensitive leak test methods are required to determine leakage in the valve components. Valve seat, stem seal, and valve body leak tightness can be measured. Air pressure decay and helium leak test methods can be used to locate and measure leaks in objects which are under vacuum or pressure. Select a category below for applicable leak testing equipment.
Helium Vacuum (HV): An automated method where the test part or test fixture is evacuated to full vacuum while helium is introduced to the opposite barrier of the part.
Helium Sniffing (HS): A manual method of sniffing a pressurized part to detect helium escaping a leak.
Air Testing (AT): A variety of automated test methods using air as the test media for detecting leaks by pressure decay or mass flow.
