Leak testing of refrigeration refrigeration and a/c systems such as mobile a/c units, ice makers, refrigerated storage units, building a/c units, etc. is normally performed to verify leak integrity of joints and connections in an assembled system. Commonly, with the system charged with refrigerant, a sniffer leak detector is used in a manual mode to poinpoint leaks. Helium and hydrgoen can also be used as a tracer gas for sniffing in these applications prior to refrigerant charging. For a global measurement of leak rate the accumulation method can be used.
Select one of the product categories below for more information.
Multi-Gas Sniffing (MS): A manual method of sniffing a pressurized part using a variety of instruments specifically designed for non-helium tracer gases such as refrigerants, hydrogen and SF6.
Helium Sniffing (HS): A manual method of sniffing a pressurized part to detect helium escaping a leak.
Helium Accumulation (HA): An automated method of capturing and accumulating helium in an enclosure surrounding a part pressurized with helium.
