Automotive fuel tanks, pumps, hoses, and other components require leak testing to ensure both liquid and vapors to not escape from the fuel handling system. The automotive industry has developed a standard reject limit defined by a theoretical 15 micron orifice defect. Depending on test part size and required cycle time both helium tracer gas and air leak testing methods can be employed.
